Cold Hawaii Ultra: Trail running from Løkken to Agger
On 18–19 September 2026, runners traverse National Park Thy and Jammerbugt with the finish line at Vesterhavshytten and Signalmasten in Agger. Choose from 12 km, 24 km, 50 km, 50 miles or 100 miles — all finishing just steps from the North Sea. Spectators can cheer at the goal area right by the dunes.
Agger Angling 2026: Fishing, Outdoor Life & Music on the West Coast
Three days of sea fishing competition, gear workshops and live music right in Agger. The competition starts 25 July at 08:00 along the coast – communal dinner and bar included in the ticket. Sign up via Billetto.
New Walking Trail in Agger: The Agger-Tåbel Trail (6 km)
A brand-new 6 km trail takes you through Agger's dramatic history — from sandstorms and floods to the town's revival. The route passes dikes, the old landing place and the Golden Coast, with 13 information boards along the way. Start at Signalmasten and discover the story of your holiday town.
Thy National Park Centre: New Season
The National Park Centre in Nr. Vorupør has extended opening hours from April: daily 11 am–4 pm. Free admission, volunteer hosts with local tips, and 300 m² exhibition on dune heath and wildlife.
Mackerel fishing from the jetties in Agger: best in July & August
In July and August, shoals of mackerel move close to the jetties at Agger Beach — no boat needed. Bring a rod, walk out on the stone breakwaters and try your luck. Even if they're not biting, the wide beach and crashing waves make it worth the trip.
Dune Heath in Bloom: Spring Flora in Thy National Park
April brings the dune heath to life — spotted orchids, marsh gentian, and three species of carnivorous sundew thrive here. Vangså Dune Heath is one of the best spots, right off the coastal trail. Free access, just 15 min north of Agger.
West Coast Trail: Agger to Bulbjerg
One of Denmark's most beautiful coastal hikes heading north. Pass Stenbjerg Landing, Lyngby, and the dramatic dunes.
Lodbjerg Lighthouse: Climb the tower and grab coffee in Nationalpark Thy
About 15 minutes' drive from Agger, Lodbjerg Lighthouse stands in the heart of Nationalpark Thy. Climb the white tower for sweeping views over dune heath and the North Sea, then reward yourself with coffee in the old lighthouse keeper's house. Several forest trails start right here — pick a short loop or a longer coastal hike.
Agger Tange: Bird Paradise
One of Northern Europe's most important staging areas for wading birds. Accessible path up to the dike with views of thousands of waders. Bring binoculars!
